Multicultural Education Department Set to Host Second Virtual Family Engagement Night
The Department of Multicultural Education is hosting another Family Engagement Night on Tuesday, November 17 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will take place online using Google Meet. As part of recognizing November as Florida Family Engagement in Education Month, the goal is to encourage parental involvement and increase family participation in their children's education.
Sessions will be provided in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, and Portuguese, and will include discussions of topics such as:
• Behavioral Mental Health, Social Emotional Learning
• Choice and Career Programs
• Migrant Information
• Seniors: Post-Secondary Preparation
• SIS Gateway
All parents are invited to participate in order to obtain valuable information and connect with some of the District’s knowledgeable educators. Participation can be through Google Meet, or via phone. Both modes of participation are offered in four languages:

Additionally, there will be a backpack distribution for parents on Thursday, November 19, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Backpacks will only be available to those parents who participated in the Family Engagement Night events. Distribution will occur at each of the District’s four regional offices:
