Instructional Community

The School District of Palm Beach County is making every effort to ensure that our students’ education continues while they're at home, as the Governor’s office and the Florida Department of Education have mandated schools remain closed through at least April 15.

Virtual instruction will launch on Tuesday, March 31. Teachers will prepare on Monday, March 30, after Spring Break.

The District launched a website with information for teachers and students about plans for instructional continuity. The website must be accessed while logged into the District portal as a student or staff member. See a preview of the District Instructional Continuity Support Plan.

District curriculum teams have worked to compile world-class educational resources and comprehensive collections of digital content. Through both digital and television broadcast formats, our goal is for all students to have access to instructional content.

Our Instructional Continuity Support Plan (ICSP) leverages distance-learning to foster sustained student growth by supporting continuous instruction, providing access for all students, and maintaining a connection to the community. The District will ensure access to instruction by providing mobile devices upon request, for as long as schools are closed.

District families are being surveyed to determine if they have a need for a device at home in order to access digital learning resources. Take the survey here. Principals will then reach out to families directly to facilitate the deployment of technology to families who have indicated they are in need.

The District has also taken steps to facilitate partnerships with internet providers to help students stay connected at home to support remote learning. Read more here about accessing Wi-Fi through Comcast.
