School District of Palm Beach County Police Department Chief Frank Kitzerow

Palm Beach Schools Police Department Chief Frank Kitzerow is one of 15 finalists for Campus Safety Magazine’s Campus Safety Director of the Year. He is among an elite group of contenders from all over the country.

Kitzerow’s accomplishments include meeting with more than 15 local police chiefs in six weeks to ensure every school had at least one sworn law enforcement officer on campus, and ensuring that the District complied with new state requirements about safety.

He also started three training academies for officers that cover response training and planning, site assessments, students with special needs, drug trends and identification, leadership, ethics, and incident command, as well as helping to obtain new patrol vehicles for officers.

The winners and runners-up will be announced at Campus Safety Conference East, which will be held July 12-14 in Bethesda, Maryland. Complete coverage of the winners will appear this fall in Campus Safety magazine and on CampusSafetyMagazine.com.
