Summer Construction Projects Underway at Several Schools

New Adult Education Facility

Crews are hard at work this summer, renovating and improving conditions at dozens of Palm Beach County District Schools.

Fifteen schools including Bear Lakes Middle, Calusa Elementary, Carver Middle, Citrus Cove Elementary, Conniston Middle, Cypress Trails Elementary, Del Prado Elementary, Jupiter Farms Elementary, KE Cunningham/Canal Point Elementary, Lighthouse Elementary, New Horizons Elementary, Okeeheelee Middle, Timber Trace Elementary, Watson B. Duncan Middle, and Wellington Landings Middle are closed this summer for large-scale deferred maintenance work.

Examples of some of the work include painting, roofing repairs and replacement, chiller and HVAC replacement, parking lot paving and striping, interior improvements, plumbing and security enhancements.

Many of the projects being worked on are made possible by the Penny-Sales Tax approved by voters in 2016.

All security upgrades will be completed by the end of the fiscal year 2020 and include security cameras, access card readers, fencing and gates, interior and exterior doors, window film and enhancing single point of entry measures.

Demolition on the Verde Elementary’s old campus is also underway

Demolition on the Verde Elementary’s old campus is also underway. Students attending the school this year will be at the holding school at Don Estridge Middle.
